Cross Cut - Blade Mid-Height
Many woodworking cuts require making a cut exactly half way through a piece of wood, such as for socketed joints or ship-lap joints. Using any tape measurer or ruler can give less than perfect results because the wood itself may not be exactly the thickness you thought it was.
Here is a technique that uses my favorite trick of using a cut in wood to line things up for us -- in this case, two cuts to find the exact half height setting for the blade.
