BASIC SAW CUTS
It seems to me that there are three basic saw cuts when using an oscillating tool, all based more on how to control the tool than on the material you are cutting.
The RUNNING CUT is just that, it doesn't stay in one place.
The FLUSH CUT can use some of the same techniques as the Running Cut but is unique in that the blade runs flush parallel to a surface, or stops up flush against a surface.
The PLUNGE CUT has its own special problems as you dive into the surface of a material, giving you unique challenges in trying to clear out the waste. At times you might combine the plunge cut with the flush cut to gain more control.
There are learning curves for each of these techniques.
