Square Cuts & Basic Safety
The Fixed Miter Saw
Cutting square with a miter saw seems to be so simple, but the reality is that even with a fixed miter saw you can get into trouble if the cut-off piece of scrap catches on the blade and goes flying. It is actually easy to avoid this by bothering to adjust your fences, or use scrap wood accessories.
Once again, by controlling even the scrap side of the cut for safety reasons, we gain in accuracy and clean cuts.
