You often see my beautiful workbench on the show.
It is a Veritas bench with some very special features, like a double drive end vice. What makes workbenches work so well is to have holes in them to receive "dogs". Some of these holes are even in the top of the vise, so that you can move those dogs forward towards ones in the bench. The Veritas dogs are a beauty in themselves. They are brass to avoid rust and damage if hit by a cutting edge. Look closely in the photo and you see a spring on the side, that keep them snug in their holes so they stay at the height you put them at.
