Whenever I watch a master do his job, I am always impressed by his special equipment, like this diamond polisher, his special products and his series of graded grinding and polishing compounds. But what I really look for is the little tricks that make the work go so easily.
In this case, it was Griffin Wolfe's tennis shoes. When he thinks that the polishing job is getting just right, he simply slides the edge of his shoe across it, and the drag that he feels through his shoes tells him exactly how the polishing is going. He does admit that the sides of his shoes wear out before the soles. In fact, he owns six pairs of exactly the same shoes. If he were to ever change brands, he might mess up his floors. Griffin works with The Marble Clinic in Mississauga, Ontario.
