Mike is a professional renovator who doesn't have time to mess with slow methods of patching drywall holes. He sent in his quick way to patch a hole in drywall. Measure, draw and cut the damaged hole out to a simple square shape. Cut a piece of drywall two inches larger on all sides than the hole to be repaired. Mark and score the back of the drywall to match the hole in the wall. Snap and then peel off the drywall all around the score lines - leaving the front paper. You now have a plug for the hole that already has drywall paper attached all around. Just mud up the wall and put on your patch.
Well Mike got so good at this stuff that he now has his own TV show, Holmes on Homes. Check it out on HGTV Canada.
