Metal plating baby shoes and tree leafs.

Last year on the show we followed the process of metal plating at a company in Toronto called Mayfair Plating. At the end of the interview I caught my guest by surprise when I asked him if he could plate baby shoes. He said he has tried but couldn't find out how to get it to work. So I asked our viewers if they knew how. Well, Fred Cuthbert from Calgary came up with a 1950 edition of Popular Mechanics which told us how to do it. I sent that onto Mayfair Plating and a while later they came back with a real leaf that had been copper plated. Not only did they like playing with this old formula, but they have begun to make copper plated plants part of their business. As a thank you to Fred, we have sent him that copper plated leaf.

Working together we can solve just about anything.
